Paris Prosecutor Launches Probes into Epstein Case

(MENAFN) Paris Prosecutor’s Office has opened two preliminary inquiries related to the Jeffrey Epstein case, urging potential victims in France to come forward and provide testimony, according to reports.

Paris prosecutor Laure Beccuau stated that the investigations aim to examine both alleged sexual offenses and possible financial crimes connected to the case. One probe focuses on suspected acts that may fall under “offenses with sexual connotations,” potentially amounting to “human trafficking by an organized group,” while the other looks at economic and financial aspects.

The decision to launch the inquiries follows the recent release of extensive documents by US authorities. “We cannot ignore the potential revelation of facts that could have criminal qualifications,” Beccuau noted.

She emphasized that the prosecutor’s office is committed to supporting victims and collecting their statements. “We want to stand with these victims. We will receive all the statements they wish to make,” she said, highlighting the office’s intent to provide a platform for those affected.
